Eltham Park South Park Run Engagement

Eltham Park South Park Run Engagement

This morning, officers were out and about in Eltham Park South, engaging with parents walking with prams, residents getting their daily steps in, and runners and joggers using the park and surrounding routes.

The purpose of the engagement was to identify popular park and commuter routes, understand any concerns around personal safety, and gather feedback on locations where people may feel vulnerable. The information obtained will assist local neighbourhood teams in planning future engagement opportunities and targeted patrols.

As part of our Anti-VAWG work, discussions included the potential for local officers to attend and accompany residents on walks, jogs or runs, either in gym kit or uniform, providing a visible and reassuring presence. The aim is to help people feel safer using public spaces and to ensure that women and girls, along with the wider community, do not feel the need to avoid certain routes because of concerns for their safety.
